We are seeking a Senior Shopper Account Director to lead key client relationships and high-impact shopper marketing initiatives across China. Based in Shanghai, you will operate at the heart of the world’s most dynamic retail ecosystem, bridging the gap between global brand standards and local market execution.
This is a senior agency role for a strategic thinker who understands the complexity of China’s BTL landscape—from Modern and Traditional Trade to O2O and platform-led retail. You will be a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, ensuring that retail, POS, and activation work is culturally resonant, strategically grounded, and executed at scale.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Client Leadership: Own senior-level relationships, acting as the primary advisor for shopper marketing, retail activation, and POS strategy in China.
  • China-Market Strategy: Guide BTL strategies that navigate China’s unique e-commerce and physical retail landscape, ensuring briefs are actionable and culturally relevant.
  • Commercial Management: Drive the financial health of your accounts, overseeing revenue, margins, and scope while identifying organic growth opportunities.
  • Operational Excellence: Lead cross-functional teams across creative, studio, and production to deliver work that is on-time, on-brief, and high-standard.
  • Global-Local Bridge: Seamlessly communicate China market needs to regional and global stakeholders, presenting fluently in both Mandarin and English.
Experience & Background
  • 10+ years in shopper marketing, BTL, or integrated agency environments.
  • Leadership Track Record: Proven experience as a Senior Account Director managing major FMCG, retail, or global brands.
  • Market Expertise: Deep, current knowledge of China’s retail, shopper behaviour, and e-commerce ecosystem.
  • Bilingual Proficiency: Essential fluency in Mandarin and English to navigate local delivery and global reporting.
  • Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of agency economics, scope management, and profitability.
