Together with Google and the Singapore government, Skills Ignition SG is a training programme created for Singapore Citizens and PRs to grow in-demand skills in Digital Marketing or Cloud Technology. Director of Digital & Data Rina Lee shares a few words to mark the graduation of the inaugural cohort:

Google launched its Skills Ignition SG training programme back in July 2020, and since then the programme has successfully enrolled over 2,600 Singaporeans, training them with skills in digital marketing and cloud technology. As the programme's official HR partner, 33 Talent works closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure the programme's success and manage trainees' HR and career coaching needs.

This July marked the graduation of the first wave of Skills Ignition SG trainees. After spending nine months on a challenging journey to upskill themselves, we couldn't be more proud to see them waving their graduating caps during the virtual ceremony. It takes commitment, motivation, interest, and time to fully invest in your future, so kudos to all the graduates! Many have been offered permanent roles from either their host companies or the expanding job market, and we’re touched to receive heartwarming messages from trainees on how the programme has truly helped their careers or how members of our team have supported them through the journey.

Minister for Communications and Information Josephine Teo, who attended the virtual ceremony as the guest-of-honour, reiterated the inspiring stories of fresh grads to mid-career switchers that are now leaping into the tech space. In particular, a seasoned accountant of 15 years that, together with two other Skills Ignition SG coursemates, have set up a digital marketing agency for SME customers using their new skills.

As a talent consulting company with specialist areas in Digital/Tech, Data, and Communications, we truly believe that people and talent are at the core of every business, and we are honoured to work alongside Google, the Singapore government, and dozens of notable host companies to help manage the HR and operations of the programme and contribute to the future of Singapore's talent landscape. We are proud to play our part in shaping the future of the talent landscape in Singapore.

Congratulations again to the graduates, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for you!
