Reporting to the COO, the Finance Manager will be responsible for standardising the finance and accounting (F&A) function in a high-performance, growing fintech organization. This role has the potential to grow significantly as the client base and company footprint expands rapidly over the coming years.

Accounting Process Management

  • Implement the accounting services in the organization

  • Ensure consistency and standardization in the accounting processes (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable)

  • Ensure that the accounting policies, processes, and business practices comply with and are maintained in accordance with relevant legal and statutory requirements

  • Develop performance budgets with key internal stakeholders and track/report the results on a monthly basis

  • Develop a work culture that fosters F&A competence, service excellence, customer focus, and business process knowledge

Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Prepare annual budgets at both a company and divisional level

  • Assist in running both the 3-year and 5-year financial forecasting

  • Produce annual forecasting on a quarterly basis

  • Prepare annual financial reports showing the Company’s financial position and understand and communicate the variances from the forecast

  • Work closely with key stakeholders to update the forecasts accurately and timely

  • Provide a concise and robust summary of all the planning and forecasting to both the board and Exco for review and sign-off

  • Hold responsibility for the month-end close timetable and reporting process across the group

  • Run the group PL consolidation process, including review of business unit level performance against budget and forecast​

Job requirements

  • At least 7 years of working experience in F&A environment

  • Minimum 2 years supervisory or team management experience

  • Degree in Accounting

Functional competencies

  • Strong in accounting concepts, methods, terminology and be able to apply to unusual situation

  • Able to provide advice and guidance to key stakeholders on policy interpretation and to ensure compliance

  • Extensive experience across GL, AP and AR

  • Demonstrates good organization skills

  • Confident in proposing, documenting, establishing and enforcing processes

  • Knowledge of various tools (such as Xero) is a plus

Professional Competencies

  • Demonstrate leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to foster teamwork

  • Hand-on approach and confident to define and implement new, optimal processes

  • Possess strong business acumen & influence the right business decisions

  • Proactive in creating a personal development plan to learn new skills and acquire new knowledge of the business

  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills

  • Experience working for a FinTech is a big plus
